Shapleigh Hops Craft Brewing Supply & the Southern Maine Homebrewers will host the 15th Semi-annual Open house and Brewing Demonstration on Sunday, October 4th, 2009
Beer, Wine, Cider and Mead making demo’s will take place between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Club Members Winners in New England's Largest Mead Competition

Linda Trombley, a member of the Southern Maine Homebrewers wins Best of Show at New England's largest Mead competition. She won with a Metheglin Mead, Metheglin is a spiced Mead. Eric Sprague won first place in the Cyser category, which is an Apple based Mead.
Both Linda and Eric are from North Berwick Maine
This attachment is the press release for last weekends Mead competition.
At this point, I would like congratulate Eric Sprague and Linda Trombley for their gold medals and Linda for her Mardi Gras Mead taking home Best of Show. "This is a big deal for Linda and our Club."
"Mead making is growing and becoming Homebrewers favorite beverage to make in New England."
CYSER - 1st Eric Sprague's 2007 Cyser, 2nd Randall deBeauclair's Fall Cyser, 3rd Michael Fairbrother's Cyser, Honorable Mention to Peter Girouard's Cyser.
METHEGLIN - 1st Linda Trombley's Mardi Gras, 2nd Michael Fairbrother's Cayenne, 3rd Michael Fairbrother's Saigon Cinnamon.
BEST OF SHOW - Linda Trombley from North Berwick, ME and Southern Maine Homebrewers Club.

$1000 Donation made to the Good Shepherd Food Bank from the Southern Maine Home Brewers

Auburn, ME – April 24, 2009. The Southern Maine Home Brewer’s Club recently awarded the Good Shepherd Food Bank a $1,000 donation. The $1000 donation was made possible from the final proceeds of the 3rd Annual New England Home Brewers Regional Competition which was held in Acton, Maine last fall.
